The above musicians (excluding the former mayor) are members
of Orquesta Silva.
One of New York's premier Latin music orchestras playing
Salsa, Merengue, and authentic Cuban Son, they have performed
at nightclubs, on the concert stage and for numerous private
parties and special events. They were chosen by former
New York mayor, Rudolf Guiliani, to perform for a special
Dominican Day celebration which he hosted at Gracie Mansion
(the mayor's residence) in August of 2001. They will be
featured this summer in a special series of outdoor concerts
presented by the New York City Parks Department and Ruden
Management.
They have been the featured band at many "Latin music
nights" held at some of the most prestigious private
clubs and country clubs in the tri-state area. Some of
the clubs they have performed at include the New York
Athletic Club, the Rye Country Club, the Westchester Country
Club, the Hamlett Country Club and the Alpine Country
Club.
Salsa, Merengue, Cuban Son, Boleros and many other traditional
and specific Latin styles.
Orquesta Silva can provide small ensembles for cocktail
hours and background music as well as fully instrumented
large dance bands with vocalists. Dancers are also available
to adorn their performance.
